Video-conferencing on point-to-point line

Am using MSN Messenger on an ASDL Internet line , but due to distances involved etc , the video comes through at probably 1 or 2 frames per sec maximum . Is there a good program available which will give video across a regular point-to-point 56kbps phone line ? I would imagine that the frame rate would be much better .

NetMeeting allows you to manually adjust quality and framerate. But please note, nothing is going to give you much better at 40-45K connections than what you are already achieving.
