Trying to burn a movie on a CD so it is playable in my "Go Video" DVD player. What format should I use to get it into a "VCD" or Video CD "mode"?

thanks

You make vcd's (or video cd, it's the same) in much the same way as you make audio cd's. You need to have mpeg-files (mpeg1 to be exect) files (*.mpg/*,mpeg) and in most programs you just put 'em on a cd, just like you make audio cd's from wave-files.In the two cd-burn program I've used, WinOnCd and Nero, there's a cd-project type named vcd or video cd, choose that, then do what I described above.

The easy way of making VCDs in Nero works okay, but I would always get a light audio 'popping' noise at a rhythm of once a second... then I tried encoding MPEGS to the VCD-compliant format in TMPGenc and haven't had a problem.

I downloaded a single movie file (avi) of 650mb. Is it possible to convert into 2 files? As I understand VCDs there is no way I could fit it on once CD. Is that Correct?

thanks

Forcesho,

I was looking at your rigs and I was wondering what speed (fsb) your tnt2 ultra is running. I have an Abit BE6 board with a PIII 700. The multiplier on that board is 2/3. Currently I am at a 870 on the CPU but not sure if my TNT2Ultra will handle me going to 933 on the CPU.

thanks,

Just use a video-editing program and make it into two files, cut it aorund the middle of the movie, then it'll be sure to fit two cd's.
You might be able to make and use a 700mb cd as a Vcd, haven't tried it as I haven't any vcd-player (I have a PS2, which won't play vcd's at all and a dvd-drive in my pc, and the software doesn't care about such things), I think using a 700Mb cd would work, as cheap as cd's are why not just try it?
