This is a workstation video card. They generally have very similiar hardware to desktop cards (in this case, the x800), and they probably has a couple extra features like dual link2 - combining the bandwidth of two DVI ports to give you ultra super high resolution. However, the major different in these cards are their drivers because they are required to give very accurute graphics/color reproduction where desktop cards doesn't really requires it. Also, a workstation card is very OpenGL optimized through their drivers because it is what they are used for.

It's just an X800pro or XT with different drivers and Dual DVI.

Same thing with NV's Quadro cards.

They really shouldn't cost any more, but folks will pay more for a "workstation" card.
