looking at the hcl at the ms site, seems there are less than a dozen video cards supported by 2003 server. i have a GIGABYTE ATI RADEON 7000 that seems to work fine but at random time intervals (10 minutes, 30 minutes, 4 hours) my display gets scrambled with a bunch of vertical bars that flicker. when i tried to change the display driver, there was a huge driverlist for ati cards (maybe every ati card out there, even multiple radeon 7000 cards). so does win2k3 server support more video cards than just the handful listed on the hcl site? ati has no win2k3 drivers.

why does my display get scrambled?

I'm not sure about the scrambling, but I've had no trouble using the Catalyst 4.3 drivers(WindowsXP) with Server2003. I'm sure Catalyst 4.4 would be fine as well...I'm just too lazy to update this machine. I'm using a 9700pro, btw.

i downloaded the latest xp driver for the radeon, installed it in 2k3 with xp compatibility mode and haven't had a problem in 2 days.

this was really driving me crazy. i thought it was maybe my kvm but i did a direct connection to the video card and it still happened. tried a screen capture when i had the scrambling, saved it, and when i looked at it after the reboot the capture was clean with no scrambling! argh! at least it is working now (crossing fingers)
