Video Cards getting really hot

Ok my video cards are getting hotter and hotter. They have been running at about 65c for a while now. They just jumped up to about 69c about 2 weeks ago. I turned my ac from 65c to 68c andnow my temp it up to 73c. Is this a normal temp for 2 gtx 480. What can I do to lower the temp back down besides lowerig my ac back down

Have you tried cleaning them? It sounds like dust buildup.
If not, then you need to clean-off and re-apply the thermal paste.

Good to hear that it's better now.
I clean my CPU and GPU fan out once a month, usually, and I would recommend the same for you.

this is weird. I cleaned out my video card a few days ago. The temp was around 66-67 now its sitting around 61c. Why after a few days would the temp drop that dramatically. I did download new drivers

It's possible an underperforming or a misreporting GPU fan could have been the culprit but there are a lot of possibilities with 3 X GTX 480 Fermi's squeezed into a single case.

Do you monitor your core speed/voltage and memory speeds ?

If not, use something like afterburner to monitor them. These cards do not downclock when you run more than one monitor (as you are) They idle at about 65C or so at the desktop if they're not downclocking.

Sounds normal to me if this is your situation. They're just really hot.
