Okay. How good of video card do you think HS computer labs and library deserves?

I'd say 2MB ATI Rage Pro IIc AGP is good enough to drive a 15" monitor and allow students and teachers to use MS Office, Grade Machine and the internet. Anything better will probably result in reduced productivity since it gives students better gaming performance. Well game playing is strictly prohibited on our school computer anyways..

Heres what we have in one of the computer lab:

10 or 15 sets of:
PIII 833
128MB SDRAM
GF2 MX400 32MB(WHAT A OVERKILL!)

2MB is fine. But, no-one actually makes 2MB cards anymore do they?

And, most manufacturers like Dell would'nt go lower than an MX in any PC (except for a server).

Go for the Radeon LE. that this is cheap, good, and has 32MB ram

EDIT: DOH... after rereading your post... yeh... those 'puter's in teh library don't need anything better than an old 3D Virge card or whatever. Sheesh.

I would say get at least a 4mb card....you don't want to be limited in the future with new web graphics or something like that. Just a thought.
