Recently my old Geforce 4 TI 4800 had a couple blown capacitors on it because of my crappy power supply on my computer.

Right now I am looking at this problem as a chance to upgrade my card, but definately not to the newest generation card.
here are some pinpoints

1. I want to stay with NVIDIA
2. Need to stay around the 200 price range on newegg
3. I play games ALL the time, so need something that can take that quite a few hours of the week
4. Want something very reliable

I wouldn't consider myself a video card buff, so I am basically relying on opinions from you fellas.

Any help at all would be appreciated.
Thanks much.

To be very honest, ATI owns the video card market from 100-200 dollars. Nvidia has some awsome cards for less than 100 and more than 250.

If it needs to be nvidia then i would go with the 5900nu and hope for a flash to 5950 or to 5900pro. Or a really good overclocking card. For around 200 there isn't really a solid contender against ATI's 9800pro at stock speeds.

EDIT: Got in before me. And nice avatar :)

If you are totally set on Nvidia you need to checkout the 5900xt or wait a few months for the new 6600GT which will probably be the best card for around 200

However, I second this, the 9800 Pro is the best card currently at $200.

Ok, it looks like the 9800 pro is the best card for what I am looking for. Can one of ya give me a specific link to that card you think I should get?

Thanks

You have 3 options:
1) 9800pro now for ~$190-$200
2) 6600/6600GT for ~$150 and ~$200 respectively. Agp version is scheduled to come out in about 2-3 months. 6600GT averages -5% to +40% as compared to a 9800 pro in various game tests. Overall, id say ~20% faster if you average common tests.
3) 5900xt ~$170. This card is averaged to be around 10-15% slower then a 9800p, sometimes worse, soemtimes it even wins but 10-15% slower is the average. Then again its also cheaper by $20-$30 on average.

Fry's Electronics has the 9800 Pro for $180, good until Tuesday. If there is no Fry's near you, CompUSA has it for ($210-30 rebate =) $180 but this sale ends today.
--- Update:
This week Best Buy has the 9800 Pro for $200 after instant rebate. Price match to Fry's.
