I have a quick question.

How is that a XFX R9 280 needs at least a PSU of 750W if the whole system in AT tests with a R9 280X draws around 360 Watts?

I want to know if I need to upgrade my PSU or it is just a cool way to get more money.

Thanks,

Not sure why Newegg says 750W, as you don't need nearly that much power for a 280. I'd say a 500W PSU (which is what the Sapphire card states) is plenty enough for one 280. Just be sure you have a 6-pin and an 8-pin PCI-E connector free.

Probably because to cater for retards who are going run a 280 with a crappy overrated Powmax etc PSUs instead of spending like ~$20-30 for a decent 400W+ unit which can easily handle a S115x/280 system with reasonable headroom to spare.

I have a Corsair CX430M and a Core i5 4430 with everything at stock speed and voltage. I think that I should be ok but still 750W got me nervous.
