I am looking for a little advice on the best value for a AGP video card for my new AMD 1.33 & Epox MB. I am not a gamer, but would like good performance. I surf and a little digital photography. I don't want to spend alot as to P*** off my wife!

Any suggestions???

Thanks

Radeon LE should be a good contestant. Only good if you decide to flash the card. it should cost about $70.

yeah, there are plenty of affordable video cards out there, and since you're not in the business of gaming, the market is even broader for you.

You might want to try the Diamond Stealth 3 S540 or S540 Xtreme (the one with the ST3C compression ... you can probably find one for around 50-60 dollars, and it's an excellent card as far as picture quality is concerned.

Or you can try to shell out a bit more and go for a GeForce 2 MX... very affordable... less than 100 dollars now I'm sure, and it will give you a lot more power.

Since you're not really into gaming, speed doesn't really matter to you... but since you're into digital photography... the picture quality might matter... and I think the video cards like the S540 will supply you with just what you need. Good luck

don't get a MX...you'll shoot yourself--MX has godawful image quality.

Get a Radeon LE, and flash it to full Radeon. Great image quality, awesome DVD.

Or maybe a Kyro II based card...those are supposed to have fairly good image quality/features too...but I'd say the Radeon LE would suit you best :)
