I am trying to find a decent video card around the $50 area. I saw this at newegg.com, but I'm not sure.

What do you guys recommend I should get? I have a Samsung 710N 2-black 17" LCD monitor to match the card.

Thanks for your input. I happen to see this card and I was skepitcal of Gigabyte. Do you have any experience with this card?

Let me ask youanother question. I have an older 64MB card at home. Would that effect how the fonts are displayed on my Samsung 710N 2-balck LCD? I have a feeling that my older video card isn't that great.

With you card in mind, how is this one for a few extra bucks?

honestly, I'm not a gamer at all. I just want a nice clear crisp picture from my LCD. I figure that since I'm gonna build a PC slowly, I would get some decent stuff that is reasonably priced.

I don't know the brand of my current card. Lets just say when I bought it, it was around $40. It can't be all that great!

All the links dont work, newegg site must be broken. Anyway, I have a 9000pro, and I'm sure you can get those for like $50-60 these days, and it's a lot of bang for the buck. It's actually faster than the newer 9200 cards, when ATI started to really cut corners.

The links should be working just fine. I just tried them. The card that you have sounds good. Take a look at the Gigabyte card that I want.

The 9550 will be fine, too. It's a DX9 card as well, which the others weren't. I've used several GB cards without any complaints.

I'm also looking for a non-gaming videocard. But I've been told a 128MB card with 128 bit memory bus would be a waste for video and photo editing. Is that accurate?

Well, since you can get one of those for ~$50, how much of a waste can it be?

You probably wont need 128 MB of video mem for photoshop, but I wouldnt buy anything with less than 128 bit mem interface, just because these days theres no excuse for even making a 64 bit card, it's like stone age technology. Beside, the 128 bit gigabyte card seems like a good deal for ~ $50.
