Video Card

I got a compaq laptop right before ATI came out with the Radeon Mobile Graphics

Its a Presario 2500
2.4 B Northwood
512MB PC2100
ATI 345M IGP

I am wondering if there is anyway to upgrade, alternatives being Radeon Mobile Graphics or I think I have seen PCI Video Cards that could also connect by USB.

My only other alternative is to upgrade my ram to a gig but that is expensive.

If I decided to buy a new computer I would build my own desktop

You definitely can't upgrade the video card, it being integrated (IGP - Integrated Graphics Processor i think). The latencies on a usb video card would be rediculous, also the bandwidth is prolly not enough anyway. I guess its either a gig of ram or a desktop for you
