Is a geforce 2 mx to geforce 2 gts DDR upgrade worthwhile. I play alot of games and the GTS is only $130.(leadtek version) will I see any improvement at 1024X768X32bit color or should I just wait for geforce3 prices to come down.
Up until recently I have been pretty satisfied with the MX but just finished Undying and the game seemed to run very slow at times although I'm not even sure I can blame that on my video card. I will be running the card on a P3 800mhz BX440 system. Giants seemed to slowdown on me a little too but was still playable.

If I were you, I'd wait for the GeForce 3.
Even considering that you play games that much, I think you will be throwing a lot of you money away if u make upgrades that suddenly.

But then again, I'm not exactly loaded, so my opinions come from the frugal side. (i'm still using my voodoo 3 3000)

You will probably see anywhere from a 15-25% increase in speed going from a GeForce2 MX to a GeForce2 GTS card. If that's worth the money to you, then buy it. Personally I don't think it is, but I'm cheap. ;)

Please look at some reviews online, they also have direct comparisons in speed between various video cards.

From GeForce2 MX, I would recommend to at least get the Ultra...... or spend $300 on the GeForce3.

Unless the games you play becomes a slide show, I'd wait until Nvidia (hopefully) releases further revisions/varieties of the GF3 in the Fall. ATI will also be releasing something (hopefully) as well as Matrox and their G550.

This'll hopefully bring (current) prices for the regular GF3 down.
