Currently have a ATI Radeon HD 4550 and would love a new video card for 1680x1050 resolution.

What would be a good choose please? Don't care if it is Nvidia or ATI I been both before. Like them the same.

come on now, after 4.5 years you should know to list ALL your specs when asking questions like this.

and what games do you want to play because coming from a 4550 means you must not have cared about modern games for a while?

It would help to know your budget.

My idea of good choice is barely enough to play a game that I want, while not breaking the bank. I run 2x 30", but I only use one for games. All my money is in my SSDs, RAID and displays. I'm pretty boring that way. Though the more I hang out here the more I'm getting tempted... but anyway, I chose a GTX 560, and clocked it mildly. All I have is Flight Sim X and Crysis 1 & 2. Crysis 2 challenges the 560 at 2560x1600, but it is actually playable if I don't try the high texture add-on download. For $180 I can't complain.
