would a 570gtx match up well with a 9650 intel quad? im running a 260gtx and it runs good with Bad co 2, im anticipating a new build for Battlefield 3, but if i can get away with a high end video card rather than a whole new build i would save a bunch of $

Nothing wrong with your CPU at all. If I were you, I'd think about OCing it a bit if you haven't done that already. No point in building new with that kind of horsepower under the hood.

if i go with a 570 gtx, would i need a bigger power supply? keep in mind i only use 1 hd, 1 dvd drive and only 2 fans, intake and out plus the cpu fan

I have a Corsair 750 ps running a EVGA 570sc with no issues whatsoever. The GTX 570 technically requires:

Requirements
Minimum of a 550 power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 38 Amps.)

Two available 6-pin PCI-E power dongles

Taken from the Evga website for the 570sc.

never did any oc'ing, any tips on how i would oc my cpu?

Don't take this the wrong way, but you have 2 overall posts and you are asking a CPU overclock question in the Video Card subforum. 😕

My advice is to spend some time researching online, then come back to the CPUs & Overclocking subforum and ask your questions once you have some good background information. Be sure to list your full system specs -- CPU, mobo, RAM, including your power supply.

^ sage advice from Brencat. A little reading (first), then a sensible post (with details/spec) in the correct forum will get the help you need.
