I have right now a Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro Advantage Edition 256 MB, I'm looking for something better but I don't want to pay a whole lot, I'm thinking a Rad. 9800 Pro or a 6600 but I'm not sure.

Video Card prices around here seem to high is there a Canadain web site that have good cheap cards and shipping isn't that much ?

6600 vanilla is a bad choice. 6600gt all the way. Course the 6800nu is a great choice as well, argueable the better choice, albeit slightly more expensive (link)

IMO the upgrade from a 9600Pro to a 6600GT will not be worth it.

Either go with a 6800GT which may even then not be a big enough upgrade. Personally, at this point, I'd hold out 6 mor months for the mid grade 7xxxx cards.

I would find a used 9800 pro on these forums. They should be very cheap. I still use one and play all the latest games at decent settings and have no issues. I wont be upgrading until something wont play to my satisfaction. :)

Sure, that might seem true given that 6600GT will become low-end in about 1 week. However, I understand the position he is in. I live in Canada and videocard prices here are outrageous. Add 15% tax and it's hurting.

Here is X600XT (15% faster than 9600Pro) vs. 6600GT:

Whether the OP finds this upgrade worth it or not is up to him to decide based on the games he plays.
