Currently running HD6850 on i5 SB with 16GB RAM and Antec 650 Watt PSU.

Planning to upgrade for 2 main reason, BF4 played on regular 24" computer monitor @1080 through DVI and 3D movies projecting through Benq W1070 via HDMI, sound to go through optical.

First of all do I need to upgrade? if yes what would be the ideal card? trying to keep the budget at around 200 but can go up to 250, no more.

TIA

The card to get will be amd's new cards coming out in the next few weeks as they are partners with dice. And most likely bf4 will be on of there never settle bundles so you can pick that up for nothing as well.

7950 or a gtx760,think most people here would recommend the 7950 for its overclocking capabilities or wait for the stuff coming in the next month or two.

7870, if you are agreeable to reducing a setting or two from high to medium. Otherwise 7950 if you can't wait. I've found that in grunty games like Crysis 3 an more or less even split between high and medium (very high textures though) results in smooth 50+FPS 1200p gameplay. Still looks better than consoles too.
