I fried my 789 TI my son is letting me use his HD 770 until I can get a another GPU.
I have a I5 4670k at stock speed can't seem to over clock it. I am using a Z87 chip set.
If I got a 980 TI or a R9-furry x would i be bottle-necked bad by my main board and CPU ?
The thing that bothers me about these GPU'S is that keep hearing that next year they should have a single card solution for 4 k monitors ( about time ). So i am hesitate to spend anything at this time if there will be that big of a difference in the GPU's.
I only have a Eiso 144 hz 1080p monitor. Gave my dell 2560 x 1440 p monitor to my wife because she works with photos a lot. A higher res monitor would be nice but the HD 770 would not fair good with it so I thought it better to upgrade the GPU first if it makes sense.
Or should I up date to skylake first then get a better GPU and Monitor later?
I play witcher 3 and witcher 2, tomb raider, and messing with guild wars 2 at this time.
