Hey there everyone,
to make a long story short......I gave my old pc to my brother who didnt have one. It has an Asus A7N266-E with onboard video, Thermaltake 480watt psu, AMD XP2100+, 512mb Mushkin RAM. MSI 6600GT Video Card
We had tons of problems after a reinstall with BSOD when playing certain games. Sometimes the computer wouldnt even boot and what not. Since I did not uninstall all cards or anything after the last reinstall of XP Pro, I figured I would do it this time. So all I have now is the bare essentials and I reinstalled with onboard video. Installed everything just fine. After all motherboard drivers, I installed the graphics card. Ran the newest nvidia drivers.
Everything seemed to work fine but now I can boot and even go through the windows log in screen and even on occasion get to the desktop for a few seconds and then the monitor goes blank and says no signal. There is no option in bios that says disable onboard video but there is a setting that says boot using onboard or agp bios.....i selected agp.
So what is causing me to lose signal? If I run the onboard bios and connect it to that port, everything works great. Just not the AGP card for more than a few seconds. Fan is moving so I dont think it is overheating.
Sorry about the novel.....and it was the short version..... Laughing
Thanks for any help you can give me.
