Has anyone else run into this problem? That their video card is far too large for their intended installation slot? I have a nice full-tower Chieftec case, plenty of drive bays, seemingly roomy interior, but after recently upgrading to a Biostar NF4ST-A9 mobo and a Sapphire X1950GT, I find that the PCI-E 16x slot lines up with the bottom-most HD bay's connections. If I unplug the connectors from the back of the HD, the video card fits in there with a mm or two to spare. Nevermind the PCI-E power connector. So it looks like I will have to lose one of my HD bays if I decide to keep this card.
Are there shorter X1950-based cards available? What other comparible, but shorter, cards are there? 7600GT? 7900GS? I have a 19" WS LCD and game at 1440x900 res.
