Hey guys,

My media center PC has an AMD X2 260 CPU. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103873) I never intended the machine to be for gaming (that's what my gaming rig is for). However, I thought it might be cool to play some PC games on it that I don't normally play on my desktop (and take advantage of the big tv screen and my couch). What is a good graphics cards that I can pair with this CPU that is inexpensive, uses less than 450W, and won't make my CPU be the bottleneck? Right now I'm rocking integrated HD4200.

Thanks

that cpu is going to be a bottleneck just in general for many games so no way to avoid it bottlenecking any decent card. I would just get a 7750 or 7770. you better have at least 4gb of system ram in there too if you want to play all current games.

yes, a 7750 is going to be limited by this CPU in many games but, I see no point in getting a slower VGA.

I'd even consider a 7790 or 650 Ti Boost (2GB, preferably) if you can get one for the right price.

You'll probably upgrade the rest of the HTPC at some point and it would be nice to have a decent card at that point.

If you are looking used, a 5770/6770 is a great bet for solid performance and modest power consumption.

I think a 7750 is your best bet. No external power required, and it would be limited by your CPU in many games, but not to a huge degree.
