I have a nvidea 6800 OC video card that i bought a year ago that i was thinking of selling to buy this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814142052

i gain double the memory and pci express over the 6800
i've sold my motherboard, processor already to go along with this new video card that i want to buy.

Is this worth it to gain more performance out of my gaming experience? or should i stick with what i got now?

if you've already sold your motherboard and proccessor, you might aswell go to PCI express so you can always upgrade again later. the extra 128 mb RAM ont he GTO never hurts.

looking around i found http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=687&pageID=976 for a BFG 6800 OC review (6800 at 350/700) and
http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphi...w_out_your_ati_radeon_x800_yet-10.html for a GTO.

im sure we can debate all day about reviewing techniques but none the less it gives me the idea that the 2 are close to eachother in terms of performance. only the GTO seems to have a tad more of OCing headroom.

i'd say if you plan on upgrading later on in your computer's life cycle, might aswell go with the GTO and PCI-E. if you plan on buying a new computer all together in the future, save the money and stick with the 6800 (though that does seem kinda futile if you've already sold your motherboard.)

you might want to check this thread out,

i would make the switch, and unlock the pipes on the Connect3D since it's cheaper than the 6800gs and should give similar performance with pipes unlocked.
