video card timeline

hey yall, I am still having a tnt 2 32 meg in my system. the problem is with all the new video cards out i get confused, and the benchmarks seem to be a blurr to me, can anyone explain the roadmaps that both nvidia and ati have taken? i need an upgrade and i am just lost in the blurr ofr 9000proti500fx5200 pro crap 😛!also does anyone have a link to a good benchmark refrence?

The simple solution is let everyone now how much you want to spend and what is important to you (which games and do you use AA/AF when playing).

well i am looking to upgrade across the board as soon as money permits, I mainly play action or fps games.

All they tells me is that you want the best but to be somewhat conservative. Did I assess that correctly?

Option:9600p - /140-160 dollars /- (Mid Range Performance)
Option 2: 5900 FX - /200-240 dollars /- (Upper Range Performance)
Option 3:9800 - /250-300 dollars/ - (Upper Range Performance)
Option 4:9800 pro - /300-350 dollars/ - (Top Range Performance)
