Video Card Temps

Yeah, as you can see in the sig, I'm running a gigabyte x800xl which is passively cooled. I like it, but I'm just curious to see how hot it is running. I know that there is some software for video card temp monitoring, but I don't know where to find it. Little help?

I am not sure about the ATI cards, but on Nvidia cards, if you right click on the desktop, and go to properties of the video card, there is built in software / hardware to check the temps with the driver install...
Tas.

another voter for tray tools. i also played around with the fan adjustment profiles in there. my load temps came down significantly with this config.

50C core temp = fan @ 50%
55C = 75%
60C = 88%
65C = 100%

since my gpu load temp is 62C, i never have to hear that thing spinning 100%

I have heard that this is normal but still

On hot summer weeks, my load temps (BF2) with my Sapphire X850XT are usually in the high 80's, and sometimes hit 90, until I manually set the fan to 35-40% with Tray Tools, so it lowers to about 72 (Celsius, of course). A bit noisy, but then again, when I play a game, I completely forget about it.

yea, its def hot out here. Like 94 and humid. So thats not too bad. Just checking to make sure it was pretty normal.

Cool, thanks!

i have an X850 and water cooling. how do i check the temp of the card, and what is a safe temp to be at. what is too high?

those are nice temps, I keep hitting 85+ on my 6800GT with an Arctic Cooler attached. I guess I need to look at the zalman coolers...
