I have finally found the coulprit to my oc problems. I pulled out to of my 4 sticks and now i have a stable OC with prime 95 for 24 hours . x64 3000+ 280.8 @ 9.x Multi Htt 4 and Mem to DDR333 not DDR400. With 3DMark 2001SE I get a score of 6660. Not bad but still room for improvement. I started to oc my video card and was wandering off stock cooling how hot i should let the heatsink get to. I have a IR temp that reads it as 126.7F non oc running 3DMark2001SE. I uped the setings mem and core 10mhz each and got a score of 6890 with no problems but i don't wanna cook it. Any one know how hot i should let it get? I have a 120mm fan exaust in back and 1 80mm fan side for intake as well as what the PSU pulls in. I had to take out the front intake of a 80mm fan in front of my hdds. Thanks for your help/advice. Please help

Well here is the way that I see thing, first if you can post your GPU temps in c rather than f then I always up the gpu by about 5-10 mhz and test do the came for the vram till you start getting errors (artifacts are mostly from the vram and lockups are from the core) and high temps. use the search function to find a general concensus for the normal temps for your card. that should get you started, good luck and post some results. REMEMBER THIS, do all this at your own risk I am not responsible for you cooking your card from my advice but it works for me all the time, but ALL cards overclock differently. Have you tried the AITool? that I think will test and autodetect a fairly safe setting for you but remember at your own risk. again, goodluck.

Are you overclocking the x300? Why even bother. Its not powerful enough to play any new games.

Thanks for your help and I compleatley understand it is at my own risk as is any over clocking. I figure if i cook it (not that i'm trying) i could get an updated one and the wife would have to let me ;)

Ahh dude, I told my girlfreind that I was going to OC a card and she flipped out, I stopped paying attention to her after about 10 seconds of her bitching but she went on about me not getting a new card if I am the reason my currant card didnt work yadda yadda yadda. that was my 5200, I for some reason tried taking the HS and fan off and I diddnt realize that the pins holding it on were so fragile, that POS was junk when I got done with it ha ha ha, I told her that I had no idea what happened to it...that day new egg took some money from me and I got the ATI 9600pro (256mg) and it didnt stop there, now I have the 6800gt and for some reason I took that apart also, but I was a much wiser nerd by then and all is well, good luck with your hardware, be carefull.
