I have the BFG Nvidia 6800 OC 128 MB What is a safe temp for this card to run? Mine is a about 52C at idle, up to about 58 or 59 when stressed. Has stock cooling on it. I have the extra 4 pipes ative using rivatuner, haven't tried overclocking yet. If I OC at what temp should I be looking at.

Thanks, Terry

Thanks Regs,

How high has someone OC this type of card with no problems?
And should I try 10mhz at a time or more?
It comes 350/700 from factory.

Here is my system,

AMD 64 3000
Epox EP-8KDA3+
BFG 6800 128MB
2 sticks Mushkin 3200 dual blue ram

Thanks Terry

I would go 15-30 Mhz. 15 on the core, 30 on the ram. I don't own the 6800, only the GT. So I don't have hands-on experience in over clocking it.

+10 at a time until it fails the test, then once you reach the peak set it back 20 mhz on the core and mem (stability), after you have that set run 3dmark 05/03 and set it to repeat the tests 3 times. This is to test if its stable, if it freezes your not stable -10 and try again. Thats pretty much all you need to know, I wouldnt worry about your temp its normal, unless your voltmoding you have no worrys, and did you already attemp to unlock the pipes/shader?

good luck.

Yes pipes and shader are unlocked. I ran 3dmark03 and scored 9857, I think I will try and OC a littlebit see if I can get it to 10500 or maybe even 11000.

Thanks Terry
