video card supported resolutions

When I do buy my new LCD, I need to make sure the new Nvidia video card I buy to go with it can support 1680x1050 resolution. The problem is that I can't find a list anywhere showing the resolutions that each of their cards support. I don't necessarily want the latest, greatest thing. In fact, I'd prefer the bare minimum card that can support this resolution with a DVI connection.

...I can't think of a video card you could still buy new that would not support any remotely sane resolution up to at least 1600x1200 over DVI. The vast majority will also run 1920x1200 and 1080p without a problem, even though it's slightly out of the single-link DVI spec.

I do hope that is the case. I know that my card now does not support it, but it came with my computer I bought in October 2001 (an old GeForce3). Just wanted to check. I'm thinking a GeForce6 series card.
