Wondering what would be an even match for a Q9550 @4.00 ghz but don't need overkill as at some point the cpu will be the bottleneck

Looking for cross-fire setup as it's gonna be using a P5Q deluxe MB

Looking for cards that are water cooling friendly....As in dont need expensive full blocks

Thanks for any suggestions

It would be very hard to crossfire a lot of newer cards with your power supply. I think most newer cards require about 600W for that. Even one HD5770 recommends a 450W power supply, and they are very energy efficient.

Edit - I was looking at your HTPC specs in your sig. What is the size of your power supply?

Antec TP 550 is current power supply being used....May upgrade tho haven't decided yet.

Budget not sure....Figure in cross-fire don't need latest and greatest cards.

2x 5770's should be fine on your power supply with 4, 20 amp rails.(waterblocks 75$ a piece)=470$
Performance = hd5870

Why crossfire? You could buy a 5850 now (waterblocks are about 100$) and another one later.=410$
You cpu is not gonna bottleneck any crossfire combination.Your choices are endless.
