Video Card showing Weird Temps.

Okay, so I just finished my XQPack machine today (thought maybe the case type would help).


Anyhow ATI Tool is showing this..

100% Fan Speed
89C GPU Temp
55C Temp Chip

Was does this mean for me? I know I shouldn't go over 100C on temps...but why am I running so high without exerting any muscle on my x700 Pro?

those temps are way too high. The "temp chip" should be ambient temp. I'm surprised you aren't artifacting, if that GPU temp is correct. Perhaps the sensors are wrong?

Edit: Are the drivers loaded?

Yeah, latest Catalyst. Really weird...I'll test the temp with my case cover back on, instead of caseless...but really weird. Maybe the Sapphire cooler stinks, or maybe something is blowing exhaust heat onto it.

Okay, just shoved my 6800 (ussauly a hotter running card)

49 temp
33 Temp chip

Much better...guess I should keep it under..any recommended temps to stay under?
