Video card repair?

I have a x800pro, Sold it to a buddy. he put it in an acrylic case, and well I guess acrylic cases have more potential for static. he fried the mobo and vid card when he moved it from a regular case to an acrylic case.

So long story short. Can you even have a video card repaired? I bought it on Oct 22nd 2004, so the 1 year warranty is no more (ATI brand). Plus I have a Zalman aluminum siding cooler or it so they wouldn't cover it under warranty anyways I imagine...

Any ideas?
