Hey guys! After the awesome router recommendation from a month or so ago, I decided to ask here for a video card recommendation. Normally, I'd just order straight off of the 'egg, but...

I have to have two dual-link DVI ports. The only 7950's I've found with 2x DVI the 'egg has listed as 1x single, and 2x dual.

I'm looking for something in the $200-$300 range capable of medium-or-better-quality 2x2560x1440 gaming - and it must have 2 dual link DVI ports. I'd also really like it if it was flashable to 7970 specs as I see several can be.

Suggestions?

System Specifications:

I. Processor/CPU: I5 2500k @ 4.8ghz

II. Current Graphics Card: GTX470 (With 2x dual-link DVI!)

III. Display Resolution: 2x2560x1440 (Or 5120x1440?)

IV. Power Supply Unit Specification (Brand, Wattage, Ampage, Age). Antec 650w

V. Case Specifications(N/A, Model, Length, Low Profile, Cooling, HTPC, Water, Silent): Aluminum full tower

Purchase Details:

I. Budget? Please be sure to include currency (If not USD), retailer preferences & specify whether rebates are a viable option. $300

II. Any particular preferences (Manufacturer[nV or AMD], Brand[XFX, Sapphire, EVGA, etc], Cooling Solutions)? AMD, mad preference due to running a higher resolution

III. Do you plan to have any Multi-GPU solutions such as Crossfire or SLI? No

IV. Have you previously looked at a product(s) which you feel would fit your needs? Yeah, 7950 or maybe a really highly discounted 7970 is it - but I NEED 2x dual link DVI

V. What are your needs for this GPU? Which games(If any)do you intend to play? If you have this information at hand, what are the desired detail levels? Medium or higher is fine.

VI. Do you plan on overclocking the card you intend to purchase? Overclocking capability always rocks.

Don't your 1440p monitors support DisplayPort?

If you really must have 2x DL-DVI, GTX 660 Ti is pretty much the only option on your budget. Asus 660 Ti $294 shipped ($274 AR).

There is no HD 7950 card with two dual link DVI connectors. all AMD HD 7950 cards have only one dual link DVI. most cards include two mini displayport connectors. so you will have to get a active minidisplayport to dual link DVI connector. and its quite costly. USD 90

It's cheaper to go with a 7970 than a 7950 and an active minidisplayport.

A single GPU is insufficient for modern gaming on 2x 2560x1440 monitors without turning settings way down. I say go for GTX670 for now and add a 2nd one later. For some games coming out this year like Crysis 3 or Metro LL, a GTX670 won't even max them out on a single such monitor. Just a heads up so that your expectations are realistic. NV cards also have lower power consumption when driving 2 monitors, which is a bonus in your case.

Not an ideal reference cooler, but a $300 GTX670 with 2 free games seems like a solid deal given that prices for GPUs seem to have risen a bit.
