Video Card Recommendation

Im going to be buying a new video card soon. Im wondering what you think would be the best video card to get. I have a P4 2ghz 512MB RDRAM PC800. Im looking into getting a 6800GT. Now I know ill be severely bottlenecked with that card, but im planning on upgrading to a P4 3.06 ghz and adding another 512 megs of ram in another 6 months or so. Do you think it would be wise to get the GT anyways or go an alternate route?

depends on what you have now.. might be more advantageous to upgrade your cpu first.

as for which card, it might depend on whether you're a doom fan or half-life/cs fan.. that being said, the GT is a fine card which i don't believe will disappoint.
 
Right now I have a GF3 Ti 200...So keeping this card isnt quite an option 🙂

Im more of a HL2 fan, but am also looking forward to playing Doom 3. I would probably rather get an X800XT but its a little out of my price range.
