I know that the amount of RAM on a video card is usually not all that big of a deal unless you're gaming with all the settings turned up to the max at a high resolution.

I'm wondering if getting an ATI 5670 with 512MB of RAM vs. 1GB of RAM makes any difference if I plan on using this for a dual-monitor HTPC. I'll be using my monitor for basic web browsing, MS Office, etc. while the same computer is also running a 37" TV right next to me. Will the amount of RAM on the card matter?

Thanks for your help!

Let me put it this way. 1920x1200x32bpp = 9 megabytes. Each frame buffer you're displaying on a higher than 1080p resolution screen is 9 megabytes.

You'd be fine with a 64 meg card for what you're trying to do (if cards made back when that little memory was standard could handle dual link DVI * 2).
