I bought a custom computer off another site...now I am confused with the video card. Its a 320MB 8800GTS 320bit

Video Card I am getting

This is the video card that comes with the PC...Now I need to know the difference in this card and the regular 320MB 8800GTS card like this one

Here

Also I have had several other video cards...such as the 640MB 8800GTS and the 512MB 8800GT Alpha Dog.

I just know nothing about video cards and want to know how much better the card I am getting really is...and if its going to be able to play most games that I throw at it...just the basics.

Thanks...I am just stupid, sorry :)

Here are some of the other specs

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40Ghz
- XFX nForce 680i SLi
- 4x1024MB Crucial Ballistix RAM

8800GT > 8800GTS 640MB > 8800GTS 320MB

The 320MB GTS card will be the slowest of the card you've owned so far. Still a great card but slower than the other two. :)

The $89.99 is a refurb, used and returned by someone. Either way they're both ripoffs, you can get the gts 512mb from evga's B stock for $99.99. The 9800GT is also better than the 320mb gts, and is $100 new with rebates.
Companies continue to list some of their items at high prices, look around and you'll still see places selling 7900gtx's for over $300 hoping some dummy buys them.

The 8800GTS 320/640 are old technology, not made any longer, just inventory remaining at some retailers. They haven't dropped the prices and just hope some sucker comes along who doesn't know any better to buy them.

Todays cards in order of performance:

4870X2 > GTX280 > 4870 1GB > GTX 260 216 = 4870 512MB > GTX 260 > 4850 = 9800GTX > 8800GTS 512MB = 8800GTX > 8800GT > 8800GTS 640MB = 3870 = 9600GT > 4670 > 3850 = 9600GSO = 8800GTS 320MB

EDIT: Added a few older gen cards for comparison.

Nice overview. Thank you for condensing page and pages of benchmarks to only 2 lines...Easier on eyes too :)
Also, The 8800 GTS 320MB chip is somewhat dated, but it should be adequate for most games expect Crysis
The rest of your system seems up-to-date :)
