Video Card Question...

Okay, here's the deal. I'm about to buy a new gfx card, but I dunno which one will be good later on down the line...here are my choices:

Hercules Dynamite TnT2 Ultra 32MB AGP (I understand these are the best Tnt2 cards, right?)

Diamond Viper 2 32MB AGP (Savage 2K...these are buggy, right?)

Generic Savage 2K 64MB AGP (I think it's an Inno3D, but I dunno...)

Voodoo 3 3000 AGP (w/big-ass heatsink/fan combo...I can OC up the ass w/this setup, but still...)

eVGA GeForce 2 MX200 32MB AGP (GeForce...but MX200 means it's REALLY crippled, right?)

I have them all at the same price point ($35-40) so I need to know...which is the best overall (good drivers, uses all it's capabilities, good CPU scaling, great OC'ing, DVD playback, etc...) I know it's a lot, but if any forum can help, it's this one...Thanx in advance!

BTW, I'm gonna put it in a p2-300 w/64MB RAM right now, and move it to an Athlon 1 GHz w/512MB RAM, so it's important to know what I'm gonna get from it now as well...if it helps, I play Unreal Tournament, Ouake 1/2/3 and Counter-Strike almost exclusively on that PC...

I'd say tnt2 ultra...but I guess if you had a little more money you could get a gf2 mx or kyro II (32 meg version)

At least find a GF2 MX. You might spend a couple more bux but this thing is going to make it through your next cpu upgrade?

The Geforce 2 MX is probably your best bet. The TNT2 Ultra is fine for 16-bit but the performance suffers in 32-bit colour. The memory on the Geforce MX is the biggest problem. The DDR is only 64-bit not the 128-bit stuff you get on the Geforce 2 GTS and higher. See if you can find a Geforce 2 GTS at a good price.

I'm tempted to play with either of these two cards! 😀 Where are you finding them for so cheap?
