Video card Question

Running i7 930
6 gigs of ram
just bought an evga gtx 760 SC 2Gd5

I am not getting the perfomance I was expecting I am considering returning the card and getting two ATI cards. Prior to this I had 2 Powercolor 7700 1gd5 xfire and they were running a little slow. With these price drops is it more beneficial for me to return the card and get AMD Radeon HD 7950 x 2? local prices in my microcenter are about 249. Suggestions?

lol you need to be way less vague. first what performance were you "expecting" and what are you actually getting? its no secret how the card performs as there are tons of reviews. name the exact games and settings and resolution you are talking about if you really want some help. and if your cpu is stock then its going to hurt you in some games with a 760 and really hurt you with multiple high end cards.

First of all, you can get a 7950 for much cheaper than that. Second, you should be aware that AMD is currently having crossfire issues which may be resolved soon.

At any rate, with a budget of $500, I'd recommend waiting until the 15th to see the R9 290 and 290X benchmarks if you can.

Also, I agree that you should explain your performance issues so it's possible to tell if you have problem with your system.

I had two of the powercolor 7700's crossfired together. CS:go was ok but was having stuttering issues. SWTOR was terrible in warzones but questing was fine. Felt maybe it was the cards no idea there were Xfire issues. Off to Microcenter i went writing off AMD with it and picked up a 760 figured i would at least get a 25% improvement at least. Now its weird for example in cs:go i start off strong at 200 fps on de_train after about maybe half an hour that number drops from 50-90. Arma 3 i was getting 16 fps everything off low as can be. figured hey i might get 50 fps and have something playable. I am getting slightly better at 25 but still once and explosion goes off or i enter a town forget it, back to lower teens. Everything is turned to low, vsync off. My native res is 1920x1280 nothing extra is running in the background. SWTOR plays better so i saw an improvement there havent played long enough to make an opinion. My cpu is stock. my case is open there is plenty of ventilation, non smoking home.

definitely sound CPU bottlenecked. See what happens if you O/C the CPU. If you are on the stock cooler, don't go crazy and add extra voltage. Just see what you can get with stock voltage and see if it helps. It likely will.
