Video Card Question

I have a GeForce 2 MX 400 64 meg. I just reformatted and I was wondering if I installed Direct X 9.0c would improve gaming performance. The current version of Direct X is 8.1.

Also I used to have a old VooDoo card and it has 2 VGA slots and it came with a cord that I connet one end to the Geforce and one to the VooDoo, and the second slow connect to my screen. would this increase performance. Heres a pic of Device Manager. The VooDoo 2 is PCI and the GeForce is AGP. So I have them running at the same time.

You're actually causing yourself a performance hit by running it that way, but that's up to you.

In regards to performance by installing DX9, you won't see an increase or decrease, as your card doesn't take advantage of any features of DX9 whatsoever.

No the Voodoo 2 is inferior (sadly because it was a beast of a card) to that Geforce 2. You are really killing performance. Although it MIGHT have an edge in Glide. But i dont know of any games that will benefit at all. Other than that either keep it as a souvenier or toss it.

Upgrading DX's will not give you any performance advantages or anything. All it does is garauntee that everything works well, unless you have a DX9.0 Compatible (supports Pixel Shading and what not) video card.
