Hi:
Which card is best (quality) for capturing Mpeg-2 and make a DVD. I don't care about watching TV, just capturing video from Dish receiver and VCR. Thanks for the help!😕
You interested in an addon PCI card, or an AGP card? ATI's All in Wonder line would likely serve you welll in that regard, but they've got a TV tuner in it too.
Do you think it would be worth it to get someting like the 9600 AIW or would a 9000 AIW work?
I am getting my things in order for Christmas and want a video capture card 🙂
The AIW9600 has basically three advantages over the AIW9000:
1. Better 3D performance (especially the 9600Pro variant).
2. Dual (analog) monitor support. The AIW9000 only has a single monitor out (although it is DVI).
3. Integrated FM radio tuner, so it can record direct off the radio instead of going through a stereo receiver.
Otherwise the cards are identical in terms of capabilities -- I believe they use the exact same TV tuner and VIVO chips.
Also, if you want just a video capture card, those are available as well. The "TV Wonder" from ATI is basically the "AIW" part of an AIW card pulled out and stuck onto its own PCI board. 🙂
I like the AGP card, the VIVO's capture quality is the same as AIW, right? If it's the same, I think i'm gonna get the VIVO because I don't want to pay extra for AIW. THanks!
