Video card quality (x800XT)

I was looking around through newegg for an X800 XT card for under $500, and saw this:

From what I know the x800 XT PE is usually $550+. So what's up with this? Is this worth getting, or is it an off-brand that should be avoided? And if it isn't a good choice, should I go with this as a normal X800XT?

And if not, can you recommend me a good X800 XT card on the cheaper side?

P.S> Every single X800 XT card on newegg is out of stock; any estimate of when I'll be able to get one from there?

First of all, Abit is not an off-brand, they make some quality stuff. Gigabyte isn't bad either, they make pretty good motherboards.

It's nice that you found that card for under 500 bucks, but it's a long shot since it is out of stock. Probably won't restock until late december maybe even into january.

that is a good price on the abit card. so it begins, the high end cards are to be found at reasonable prices.

wait a minute...neither in stock...could be months...

Yeah, the main problem is stock. I don't even plan to start building my computer until later December anyways. Is there any chance that I can get an ETA of restock if I contacted Newegg?

The ETA for out of stock items is listed when they know it, like with the X800XT below. If the ETA is not listed, it's not a good sign.

Excellent price and great find! Problem is, they are out od stock. who knows when they'll have them back in?

Also, besides Abit not being an "off-brand" as a previous poster stated, I doubt that the card is actually built by Abit anyway. Looking at the photos on the Newegg site, it looks like an ATI card with a custom grapic on the reference design ATI HSF and duct system.

One company WHO DOES HAVE the NON-PLATINUM EDITION (500 GPU core speed and 1Ghz memory clock) is Super PC Mart. They have the HIS Excalibur X800 XT IceQ II 256MB in stock for $570.00. I have the PE version of theis card, which I got at the end of August. Super PC Mart is currently out of the PE, but there really is only about a 5% performance difference between teh PE and non-PE versions.

In case you aren't familiar with HIS (Hightech Information Systems) Excalibur series cards basically HIS takes an ATI card and Install Arctic Cooling Systems ATI4, which is designed to vent the hot air drawn off of the GPU to the outside of the case. Heres a link to the Guru of 3D website for a review of the IceQ II-equipped HIS Excalibur X800 XT LE (really a PE/Platinum Edition) card:
