Does a 5870 draw more or less power than a GTX 285 SSC? I need to know so I can buy a greater psu than 750w (which is what I have now). From what I can tell, I'm using most of my wattage with a Q9550 @ 3.6 and my other components. Thanks.
 
No , your psu should be just fine.
What model is it? If its a Corsair 750 like mine it will handle 2 5870's

I have a q9550 @ 3.6 also.
 
Silverstone Decathlon modular 750w. Had it for a couple years. I don't mind replacing it but if it's fine I'll just keep it.
 
Calm down there lol, your system load would be 380 to 450watts. Im talking from seeing the charts. Soo your PSU is fine my friend, as long as it has 2 rails or more.. gl
 
That's good news, thanks! I haven't decided on what other parts I want to get, but the video card is going to be one of them.
