I've already looked around the site, and some others, I couldnt find out why my card is doing what its doing. I have an Sapphire x1600 Pro with the current ATI drivers, and no matter what game I play it tends to freeze up for about 10 seconds then I get the stupid VPU error. Ive tried turning this off, and all it does is locks up my computer. Current setup is:

AMD 64 X2 3800+
ASUS A8N5X
Sapphire x1600 Pro
WD 34g Raptors x2
2gig PC-3200

Ive tried messing with the settings, and cooling differently. Ive givin up and now asking some other peeps with more knowledge. I will respond to any questions as soon as I can. Work sucks!

Sounds to me like you got a borked card. It's probably overheating, even on stock settings.

Ive turned down all the settings, I still even get vpu errors. Well, it comes out that it is defective. My buddy brought over his video card, which is the same one, and no problems. Should of just bought a Nvidia. This is my first ATI card, and the only card Ive had problems with.
