Video Card problems

I Just got a new monitor (Gateway 22") and am having trouble getting it to work with its standard resolution of 1680 x 1050. Through VGA, this resolution works fine but when I try to use DVI all I get is a bunch of jumbled up lines that look like this -> Picture

Now, I'm thinking its probably the video card which is an NVidia MX4000 which is extremely outdated. Is it the video card or something else? Thanks

You may need to set the Gateway to work with DVI. Try another monitor or GPU.

DVI does work in other resolutions, just doesn't seem to want to work at 1680x1050. I don't have another gpu, or 1680x1050 capable monitor or else I would test.

Then the problem is most likely the GPU. Spend another $5 to $10 AR for another GPU.
