well... all of the sudden none of my media players (divx player, wmp, realplayer, etc.) will play any videos full-screen correctly... i get horizontal dis/misplacement for the screen, lines running horizontally and the pictures moved over and such. right now my only monitor is the big screen tv in my parents basement (monitors at school) whats going on here? i have a Gainward ti4200 128mb xp golden sample... the memory wont even reach the companys "enhance mode" speed without the picture getting fragmented... and i just realized that the blurry video happens whenever the video is stretched to the width of the screen... just please dont tell me that its heat damage...

Elaborate more on this. If you get a clean display without 'enhanced mode' and then get distortions when you turn on 'enhanced mode' then you may have a bad card (bad batch o memory)

You also mention distortion when it's streteched to the full screen. What refresh are you running? Is it set too low?

i have a clear display and only get distortion on video stretched to full screen... games still look fine... I also was able to set it at enhanced mode previously, i only just started getting white screens with wierd shapes while playing battlefield, so then i tested a bunch with 3dmark2001 se and turned down the o/c'ing below the enhanced mode setting and it then the card stopped crashing and giving me the white screens, but in the process i installed new drivers and put arctic sliver on the gpu... thats about all thats happened.... any ideas???

my only display is the tv right now also, so the refresh rate is stuck at 60 Hz and the screen size at 800x600
---- oh and now Battlefield wont load and neither will 3dmark2001 (3dmark2001 was unable to detect the required minimum features in your graphics card", then it crashes)

Have you attempted to run the simple DXdiag tests? If those fail then I would say you have damage on the card the DXdiag tests are very simple and test basic abilities if the card can't do those even then I'd say you may have some damage. What type of engine is Battlefield using.

yeah... directdraw hardware accellerated directX 7 test worked, but the directx 8 didnt "Direct3D test results: Failure at step 5 (GetDeviceCaps): HRESULT = 0x8876086a (3D not available)"... and battlefield 1942 uses an engine called the Refractor 2...
any more suggestions?
