I purchased a MSI StarForce 815 Pro (GeForce2 Pro 64MB DDR) for an older computer of mine. It doesn't seem to work for most games on my system. For TFC or CS it will try to load a game and time out and I never had that problem b4. For D2:Expansion, it won't load the game at all even after I ran the video test. I get a blank black screen on boot up for D2. Movies and videos work for a little bit and then all I get is a black screen.

My Specs:
Motherboard: Intel SE440BX-2
CPU(brand, type & frequency): PENTIUM III 600 KATMAI (Slot 1)
RAM: 768mb PC100 Ram
Operating System: Win 98SE
Motherboard Chipset: Intel 440BX AGPset
Motherboard BIOS version: PhoenixSystems Bios A11
AGP slot: 2x (max.) - AGP 1.0 version

I have heard that this may be a power draw problem since most GF cards require more power. I have an agp 1.0 slot and a agp 2.0 slot is recommended, but I have been told that I can get this to work. Updating the BIOS can be a problem too since I have a Dell system and I use their BIOS. I have tried to update to a new Intel BIOS with no luck. One other note, I have my video card and ata100 card on the same irq. I know that could be an issue, but it wasn't in the past. Any detailed help would be greatly appreciated. :D

I never thought about that. It is a 200W PSU. That isn't that great, but it is an older Dell computer. Any thoughts?

yeah i think it is psu too, that would cause the problems since the video card would draw more power from the supply when it is doing intensive things, i.e. games.
i recommend you pick up a new one (you can buy one for dell systems at PC Power & Cooling)

I will give that a try. I am still concerned about the agp 1.0 slot I have and most GF cards require an agp 2.0 slot, but I have heard it will work. On another note, I did hear a noise, some sort of electrical noise when I tried to fire up a game one time. Thank for your help and let me know if you can think of anything else that might be wrong. :)
