I posted this once a month or two ago. Well Today I installed Sid Meirer's Pirates...And everything was going great for the first 20 mins then my monitor went black and said : Error - Signal Invalid.

Then I updated the drivers, seeing ATI had new drivers out, did the whole updating routine. Turned the game on started up great, played for about a good 40 mins then...a Weird Noise came out of my speakers, and my computer froze up with the game freezing up and everything.... Only other time this has happened was in Fifa Manager 07.

What could the problem be?

I have a ATI PowerColor XT850XT 256MB DDR3 PCI-E

Try to unistall the display drivers, then use Driver Cleaner PRO in Safe Mode, then reboot and make sure you have the latest chipset drivers, and also make sure you have the latest sound card drivers. Also make some tests on the RAM using windiag or memtest. Also check that your PSU is powerful enough with a 12v line with 18A or more.
