Ok, I leave my computer on all the time... no big deal.
I come home from work one day and the screen is all screwed up
Its locked up and everything, I have to restart...
When it comes back up the screen is like pixelated, there's blue or pink lines everywhere, and it looks like crap.
When I move the mouse it leaves a blue or pink trail.
I tried un installing the display driver and reinstalling; however, when it gets to the end the screen goes black and it says frequency out of range...
When I download the driver from the website, installing that results in the same thing, towards the end i get the out of range message.
I even tried to do a system restore to a few days ago when everything was working fine.. and nothing helps
Can somebody help me please, or point me in the right direction...

The video card is a ti4200 Geforce2 128MB with 8x AGP
Running an Athlon Barton at 2500+ (1.8 i think?)
512 memory, everything is cool except for that display thing
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated... thanks

Check your HSF on the video card. I had the same card and the heatsink fell off of it without me realizing. It started artifacting really bad, and I wondered why, turns out the extra I paid for an Asus card was NOT worth it. Oh well, this was the time when NVidia was having lots of problems with BF1942 so I switched to ATI anyways. If it is still attached good and you are getting good temps you might try to turn down the graphics acceleration in the display properties. If that doesn't work maybe try a format, reinstall. BTW I don't think their drivers are actually unified anymore whether the GF4 is still supported in the "unified" driver is beyond me. Of course this seems like a hardware problem so that is probably irrelevant.

Yeah, kinda sounding like bad memory on the card.

Check your cooling too like the Captain said.
