Video card pricing and availability

I have been watching video card pricing for awhile. High end cards continue to sell well above MSRP. PCI-e cards are even worse. When I bought my last gen card it was under MSRP.

What's the deal. How long are things expected to be this way?

Is there a specific card you're looking for? Virtually all NVIDIA cards and many ATI cards sell well below MSRP.
