Video card or Monitor??

Monitor is a sony g400 and card is a gainward gf3 ti200. I've had no complaints about this setup, until my friend recieved his dell 17" from ubid and gf4mx200 or something. Speedwise my setup destory's his. Visually his setup 'LOOKS' alot better than mine. Colors are more vibrant and much more contrast to everything. My monitor looks like it has a very thin sheet of white semi-transparent paper over it (that's the best example I could use) compared to his $80 ubid 17" dell. What's the deal? Could my monitor be going bad or is the gf3 inferior to the gf4mx's as far as visually?

my bro has my old g400... and as far as casual use is concerned i could care less what the hell the difference is between his and the sony monitors out there now because i can't see it. id keep your monitor... but then again i had an original GF3 along with the G400 and it was fine too. Maybe your monitor is going bad. 🙁

Look all you have to do is borrow your friends video card for a while and test it on your comp or if hes lazy bring your monitor to his computer and plug it in and see how it looks. Once you can tell its the monitor or the card then well.....you can probably figure it out from there. Im banking that its the monitor though, some monitors just have a whitewashed look to them.
