Video card or monitor issue?

I built my kids a Shuttle SN21G5 Mini PC, it has an integrated GeForce 6100 video card, my problem is when they try and play certain ?3D? games like Barbie Horse Adventures, after launching the game, the screen goes black and the monitor loses connection like the PC is off, the game is running because I can hear it, just no display, I have to do the 3 finger salute to get the desktop back, any ideas what the issue is?

Software/driver problem. Exactly what I'm not sure. Try forcing refresh rate to 60 Hz in the dxdiag program (advanced option under "More Info" tab). Start menu, run, dxdiag to start dxdiag.
