Video card needed for larger screens or widescreens?

Interested to hear if anyone has found any problems or success with various video cards driving larger LCD regular and widescreen monitors over 20".

Specifically, to drive the Samsung 244T (a 1920x1200 widescreen 24" LCD monitor), what is suggested (e.g., for gaming and image/video editing)? I have a GeForce 7900 GT (extreme edition). If there's a benefit, I could double this up in SLI configuration. Or is it better (necessary) to jump to the 7900 GTX, or even the GeForce 7950 GX2 (extreme edition)?
