Video card/monitor combination?

I've decided I want to upgrade to a widescreen LCD. I've already decided it will be at least 19", but I'm open to suggestions for larger.

I am currently running on a GeForce4 420MX 64MB, so that should be upgraded to something with a DVI slot with 256MB min and a TV video out while we're at it (s-video at least). The limit is that I have AGP 4X, 2 Ghz CPU, 2 GB RAM, only 250 W power supply. I have seen that the power supply is listed as a limit for some cards, though it wouldn't surprise me if I typically was never using that kind of power as I haven't played graphic intensive games in years. Its been an awfully long time since I've had the resources or inclination to upgrade so the aspect ratio thing is new to me, but as far as I understand any reasonably modern video card can handle 16:10 and any resolution I ask of it below its max capability?

I'm currently eyeing the 19" samsung 941bw though the 20" benq was mentioned in another post and is only slightly more (240 vs 200). For a video card I am considering this Sapphire Raytheon 9600PRO in large part because I am convinced that my system won't be able to handle much more and so anything more is a waste of money.

Prices are ~$200 for the monitor & ~$60 for the video card which seems to be about as low as reasonably possible for the return. Is it worth spending a little more for more screen real estate? Better video card? Suggestions are greatly appreciated.
